Explaining the concept of different dieting methods

Three types of diets

You want to know a secret? Well there are three basic types of diets. You want to

know what they are. I will tell you about them in great detail, but first let’s look at

the three types of diets. First there are the low-fat diets, which can lead to increased

cholesterol levels and heart disease. The second is the low-carb diets. Under these

dietary programs, foods high in digestible carbohydrates are limited or replaced with

foods containing a higher percentage of proteins, fats, and/or fiber. Lastly the

portion controlled diets that are important for weight management as the weight is

defined by the total calorie intake. Which kind is the best kind, you ask?

The low- carbohydrate diets are the nutritional programs that advocate restricted

carbohydrate consumption. Based on research that ties consumption of certain

carbohydrates with increased blood insulin levels. Overexposure to insulin with

metabolic syndrome. Atkins diet is low- carbohydrates because it restricts carbs that

have an effect on blood sugar. Anne Collins is based on low-GI foods; it reduces

cravings and leads to better blood-sugar control. Low GI diet, has all the advantages

of lower- carbohydrates diets and lower-fat diets, but none of the health risks.

Did you know that everybody needs fifty grams of fat a day? The Low-fat diets are

diets that constitutes of little fat, especially saturated fat and cholesterol. There are

two types of fat: saturated fat intake should not exceed seven percent of total

calories each day and tran’s fat intake should not exceed one percent of total calories

each day. USDA food guide pyramids for example, is low-fat but high- carbohydrate
